I was 8 years old filled with the excitement of summer and endless possibilities. But I had one tiny problem:
I had no money to fuel my fun-filled childhood escapades!
My parents owned a small screen-printing business. To say they worked long hours would be an understatement. The days stretched before me, and I was brimming with possibilities…. but lacking in funds.
Even at 8 years old, it didn’t take long to figure out that if I was going to have a fun-filled summer I was going to need money! Lemonade stands were common, but profits earned vs time invested no longer appealed to me. I knew there had to be a better way!

I could only raid my dad’s coin collection for so long before he would notice (I still cringe just thinking of all the silver coins I used for Slurpee’s and junk food!)
TIME FOR PLAN B
I began to sell second-hand books to the local bookstore down the street. I discovered a goldmine at the community book drop, where I could buy books on the cheap and flip them for profit.

It fine-tuned my abilities at a young age, as I was able to identify specific genres that were most likely to sell well. I can remember striking gold with science fiction. Suddenly, burgers, mini-golf, and sundaes were on me!
MONEY MINDSET
From an early age, I grasped the importance of being my own boss and making money on my own terms. That mindset has always stuck with me.
Making money is not a thing you do, but rather a skill you learn. What you lack in talent can be made up with desire, hustle, and giving 110% all the time. Ideas don’t make money…effort does.
It’s time to start living your very best life! The goal is not more money. The goal is living life on your own terms.
