Starting a blog can be a fantastic journey that offers exciting opportunities.
Blogging can help you establish yourself as an expert in your field, connect with others who share your passions, blah blah blah blah blah blah blah….. who am I kidding, you don’t care about that – let’s get to the most exciting benefit of being a blogger – making money! LOTS of money.
This guide is going to show you (not just tell you) how to start a blog and make money, regardless of your experience level.
You don’t have to be famous; you don’t need experience and you certainly don’t even have to be computer savvy to start a blog that makes money either!
Blogging does not discriminate. It’s something that anybody can make money doing. You just need someone, who knows what they’re doing, to show you the ropes. So, grab a notebook and a pen and let’s get started!
What you Must Know Before you Start a Blog
Before we dive into the world of blogging, there’s just are few important things I want you to know before we start.
Blogging Is Not Expensive
You don’t need to spend a lot of money to start a blog. You can even start one for free if you have an internet connection.
It all depends on whether you want to outsource and what it is. In the end, it won’t cost you much compared to how much you can make from your blog.
Blogging Is Not Dead
Blogging is alive and well! In fact, blogging has become the definition of a website. It’s more popular than ever before. However, that also means it’s more competitive. But if you have a little guidance and a lot of motivation, you will be a big success!
It Doesn’t have to be Perfect
It’s important to be proud of what you write, but it doesn’t have to be perfect.
The important thing is to get it up! You can always update your content later; in fact, it helps your search engine ranking when you do!
Don’t Need to Be Famous
You don’t need to be a celebrity or a social media influencer to start a blog.
Most famous bloggers were nowhere near famous until after they started blogging. Look at them now!
Blogging Is Not Easy
Blogging takes time and effort…did I mention time? Lol. Starting a blog can be hard work, but it will get easier.
While it does require work on your end, it can also be enjoyable and rewarding.
Blogging Does Not Make You Rich Quick
You can earn money from blogging, but it won’t happen right away. Your blog will need to gain momentum before you can start making money.
Luckily there are many ways to achieve this, which I will help you with.
What makes a Blog GREAT?
If you want to make a great blog, there are some things you must know.
- A good blog has high-quality content that shows the writer knows what they’re talking about.
- The language should be easy to understand, and the format should be simple.
- The blog should have attractive headlines that make people want to click on them.
- You should also update your blog regularly and aim to post at least three times a week.
- It’s a good idea to encourage readers to participate by leaving comments and sharing the blog on social media.
- A great blog also has a nice design that’s easy to use, both on desktop and mobile devices.
- Finally, a call to action can help guide readers towards what to do next after reading the blog post.
So now let’s talk about the different types of blogs and the most common blogs in 2023.
Types of Blogs that Make Money
Personal Blog:
This is like an “online diary” where the writer shares their thoughts and experiences on different topics such as family, hobbies, or work.
I remember my personal blog; it was my first blog ever. It gave me a taste of the blogger life alright! In fact, that’s when I realized I wanted to get into the “blogging business”.
I had always wondered “how much do bloggers make?”. Well, let me tell you, I could’ve fallen out of my chair right then and there after seeing how much money top bloggers earn! That’s what really inspired me. What can I say, I’m motivated by money! Lol.
But what really motivated me was seeing that most of these top blogs weren’t famous blogs at all. In fact, some of the best blogs to read are owned by regular, everyday people. No one famous or recognizable, just average people.
Sure, you still have your big guns, like NerdWallet for example, but some of their largest competitors are just everyday folks. So, if that’s not inspiring, I don’t know what is!
This just proved that anyone could make money blogging; me, you…. heck, even the dog! Yes, even the dog.
I don’t claim to be a blogging expert, but I swear there is a tiny piece of my brain that stores blog information only…. or maybe that’s just what you call obsessed?? In a good way of course! Lol.
In conclusion, a personal blog could give you some very helpful experience. It may be a good starting point for you, just to get your toes wet.
It gives you an opportunity to get some real hands-on experience while you’re in that learning phase. You’ll be able to determine whether blogging is the path you want to take.
Remember, there are many ways to earn a living online and blogging is just one of them.
Personal blogs might not be the most profitable blogs, but they can still make money. So, if a personal blog sounds good to you, go with your gut feeling!
Otherwise, if you are looking for blog ideas that make money – the most money – I would keep reading if I were you!
Niche Blog:
This type of blog focuses on a particular topic, such as books, food, or lifestyle. The blogger shares their knowledge and expertise with readers.
The best blogging niches include several popular and profitable blog niches such as:
- Personal finance: This niche covers topics related to budgeting, saving money, investing, and managing debt.
Finance blogs are among the top paying blog niches there are.
Personal finance blogs in particular! I consider this a personal finance blog, as it pertains to making money and saving money, budgeting, debt relief, etc.
If you plan on monetizing your blog via ads – such as Mediavine or even Google Adsense – you tend to earn the most on ads that show up on these personal finance blogs. To be completely honest I didn’t even think about that part of things, until after I chose a money saving niche for my blog.
The best personal finance blogs tend to be ones that have high trust ranking factors. Obtaining backlinks with high domain authority usually achieves this well.
- Health and wellness: This niche covers topics related to fitness, nutrition, mental health, and healthy living.
- Travel: This niche covers topics related to travel destinations, tips for traveling, and personal travel experiences.
- Food and recipes: This niche covers topics related to cooking, recipes, and food culture.
- Technology: This niche covers topics related to the latest gadgets, software, and technology news.
- Fashion and beauty: This niche covers topics related to fashion, beauty tips, and personal style.
- DIY and crafts: This niche covers topics related to do-it-yourself projects, home improvement, and crafting.
- Parenting and family: This niche covers topics related to parenting, family life, and child development.
- Education and career: This niche covers topics related to education, career advice, and job search tips.
- Personal development: Blog ideas that make money in this niche are usually related to self-improvement, motivation, and personal growth.
Media Blog:
Instead of just written posts, this blog includes multimedia like videos and podcasts. Media sites are one of the best blogs to read daily.
If someone asked me to “define blog”, media sites come to mind!
News Blog:
Often considered daily blogs, they focus on current events and new releases in a certain industry. They don’t usually include personal opinions. Most readers (overall) consider news blogs the best blogs to read.
Personally, not my favorite, but they’re someone’s obviously!
Business Blog:
Companies use this type of blog to post updates about their industry or operations. It can be part of their website or a separate site. Blogging business content can get boring if you’re not interested in it, which will come across as dull to your readers. So only choose a business blog if you’re going to be personally invested in it.
Affiliate Blog:
This kind of blog promotes products or services from other companies and earns commission when people buy using the owner’s unique links. They often include product reviews and “best-of” lists.
The readers get good insight and honest feedback on various products or services, and the blog owner gets to receive a small commission at no extra charge or fee! It’s a win-win.
Some people may not appreciate affiliate links or being “sold to”, but the truth is, some of these websites earn commissions so that the owner of the website can continue writing good content and superior reviews.
Running a blog is very time consuming and there are costs involved either way, so you should not feel guilty for receiving a small commission payout for your time, efforts and out-of-pocket costs.
As a reader of a blog, I have no problem rewarding the content creator for this, as I am the one benefiting from their hard work.
The Benefits of Blogging
Blogging is a way for people to share their thoughts and ideas on a website. Even businesses can use blogs to teach people about their products. It’s easy to start a blog now using websites like WordPress and Blogger. You don’t need to know much about technology to do it.
However, if you plan to use your blog as a source of income, I HIGHLY suggest that you have YOUR OWN BLOG. Places like Blogger and Wix, could be taken from you at any given moment for any single reason. With these blogging platforms, the blog is never actually yours.
Important TIP: If you want to make money blogging, you must OWN your blog!
It’s super easy and you will never have to worry about it disappearing one day, or the platform deciding they’re going to charge you $100/month to keep it. Because if you don’t own your blog that means someone else does, which means that ‘someone’ can pull the plug on your blog without notice and without reason…. because they own it, not you.
I hope that scared you enough to make you think twice; understand how detrimental it is that you and only you, control your website.
In fact, there are many media networks that will not deal with bloggers who do not own their own blog. With that said, if you plan to monetize your blog you must control it, and to control it you must own it.
Building the foundation of your blog is super simple, however there are several steps involved that you simply cannot afford to miss.
But before starting a blog, you need to decide why you want to do it.
Here are 6 reasons why – what’s yours?
- Share what you know – You can use a blog to tell your own stories and ideas, instead of relying on newspapers or TV.
- Show off your talents – A blog is a great way to show employers what you can do and stand out from other people.
- Make money – If lots of people read your blog, you can make money from ads or selling your own things.
- Get more people to see your website – When more people see your blog, they might also visit your other website!
- Get more customers – When people look for things to buy online, they might find your blog and become your customer.
- Meet new people – You can also use your blog to talk to other people who are interested in the same things you are.
So, you want to make some cold hard cash with your blog? Well, get in line! Ok, well luckily there’s no line because if there were, YIKES! You’d be waiting until the end of time. Lol.
Here are some (quicker) steps to follow:
- Pick a topic that people will want to read about AND that can make you money.
- Learn how to write good content that people will enjoy.
- Find a way to get people to come to your blog. You could use Google or Facebook to do this, but personally, I would hold off on that. Save your money – there are enough FREE methods to get traffic, which I will show you.
- Try to get people’s email addresses by using pop-up ads with opt-in forms. Offer a freebie as an incentive.
- Make money with media networks, affiliate programs, digital products, courses, etc.
- Create your Sales Funnel and Launch it – STAY CONSISTENT (the #1 rule!)
Profitable Blogging Niche Ideas
Let us start with some harsh reality when it comes to choosing niche, shall we?
• Profit does not equal passion.
• Expertise doesn’t help either.
• Hard labor, on the other hand, does not guarantee success.
Now consider the following scenario:
Imagine you were the world’s leading expert on square-shaped onions, waking up every morning with a burning desire to educate the public on their vast superiority to a regular-shaped onion, and working so hard at it until your fingers bled and your eyes fell out (graphic enough? lol.).
You follow all the right tactics for making your new blog popular, and finally after all your hard work it pays off, right? Wrong! No matter what you did or how hard you did it, you never had a chance of making a dime.
This is why:
• Nobody cares about square onions except you – ok, and maybe your sister and mom.
• You have no sizable buying audience, no one cares to learn about square shaped onions.
Nothing else counts unless you have those two things. They are the requirements for the rest of the process.
Because what you want to say isn’t what others want to read, and vice versa.
So, you fail because…
• You didn’t use a tried-and-true content structure.
• Your writing on the subject is NOT the best that has ever been written. (Secret: it should be!)
Don’t worry. You are not to blame.
Chances are, no-one’s ever stressed the importance of these things before now.
But rather, you believed that all you had to do to be a successful blogger was to write intriguing content, publish it and VOILA!
In other words, “build it and they will come”. Sadly, that only works in the movies.
The truth is that great ideas and strong words simply aren’t enough. You must write the best material ever published in your niche and many people must want to learn more about it. This is why you must learn and know the tiers of content generation.
How to Write a Good Blog Post
- You must know what types of blog posts are popular in your industry, and only write about those topics.
- Your material must offer the reader more value than any other post on that topic!
The biggest takeaway is to develop your writing skills! The right way.
Developing your writing skills goes a long, long way.
Luckily there are ways to do this without going back to school. Besides, like I said, formal education will make you a living, but self-education will make you a fortune.
Writing good blog posts takes practice and effort, but there are some blogging tips that can help you get started:
- Choose a topic that your audience will find interesting. Make sure that it is a topic that you are knowledgeable about or that you are willing to research thoroughly. Use credible sources to back up your claims and provide valuable information to your readers. Your readers are not stupid!
- Start with a strong and attention-grabbing headline. Your headline should be clear, concise, and give readers a reason to keep reading.
- Use short paragraphs and sentences. Large blocks of text can be intimidating and difficult to read, so break up your content into smaller sections.
- Include images, videos, or other multimedia to break up the text and make your post more engaging.
- Use subheadings and bullet points to make your content easy to scan and digest.
- Write in an enthusiastic, conversational tone that makes your readers feel like they’re talking to a friend.
- Edit and proofread your post carefully to ensure that it is free of errors and flows smoothly.
Finally, make sure to promote your post on social media and other channels to get it in front of your target audience.
Remember, the key to writing good blog posts is to write about topics that will keep your readers engaged with informative and interesting content.
Best Blog Post Types
1. “List” Posts
Blunt and quickly to the point. Information is easy to read and very sharable.
2. “How to” Posts
How-to blog posts can help readers solve problems with easy to follow, practical steps. They’re super useful when you need step-by-step instructions. Often, this is all the reader wants! Know when it tell the difference.
3. “Comparison” Posts
Comparison blog posts are a popular way to compare different things side-by-side.
Their goal is to show the similarities and differences between the products or services, so the readers can quickly compare. The reader should be able to easily decide which option is best for them.
4. “Guide” Posts
Guides are great for giving an overall view of a topic. They cover a lot of topics and answer basic questions. These blog posts are usually longer and provide helpful content.
Make a Great Title to Grab the Reader’s Attention
Here are 3 things your blog title needs to do:
- Lure in readers with a juicy title that leaves them itching to click.
- Your title must be clear and tell readers what they’ll gain from your post.
- A clever title can ignite readers’ curiosity.
Here are some ways to do that – check out these blog post examples!
Talk about something the reader doesn’t know.
An example of a blog post talking about something the reader may not know could be “The Surprising Benefits of Cold Showers on Your Health”.
These posts shed light on a topic that may not be commonly known, making it informative and potentially eye-opening.
Show a different point of view.
An example of a blog post that shows a different point of view could be something like:
“How Eating Chocolate Every Day Improved My Health”
These blog posts challenge commonly held beliefs and offer a different perspective on these topics.
Let’s be real, who wouldn’t click on a blog title like “How eating chocolate every day improved my health”!
Be a little bit controversial
Here is an example of a controversial blog post:
“How to Piss Off a Dog Person: Why Cats are the Ultimate Pet!”
This topic often divides people and can spark debate in the comments section – Cat people VS Dog people, the ultimate battle!
Share something important that’s happening.
An example of a blog post sharing something important that is happening could be “The Latest Breakthroughs in Cancer Research and Their Impact on Treatment.”
These posts inform readers about important events or developments in a particular area and can raise awareness on important issues.
Connect to something that’s in the news or with a famous person.
An example of a blog post that connects to something that’s in the news could be “The Pros and Cons of Electric Cars Amidst the Gasoline Shortage.”
These posts relate to current events or issues that are being discussed in the news, providing readers with a unique perspective.
Tell the reader what your post is about.
An example of clarifying what a blog post is about right in the title, could be something like “The Top 5 Destinations in Europe.”
Titles like this give the reader a clear idea of what the blog post will be discussing, making it easier for them to decide whether they want to read it.
Your title should tell people what they’ll learn from your post. If your title is misleading, people might be disappointed when they read your post. This is not good for your blog!
Your title should also be short, so it shows up correctly in search results. This will also get more people finding your post when they search for things online.
It’s important to note, to help your blog post show up in search engine results, you should use keywords in your blog title.
In fact, just by doing this one thing you will get 72% more traffic than titles that don’t!
TIP: Check relevant content in your niche to get IDEAS for your own title.
How Often to Post on a Blog?
When it comes to how often you should post blogs, there’s no one right answer. But the most important thing is to keep a consistent schedule.
If you start posting every day, keep it up. If you post every two or three days, that should be your plan.
And even if you only post once a week or every ten days, it’s important to stick to your schedule so your readers know when to expect new content.
But its not just the readers it has an impact on, it’s the search engines as well. Google wants to see consistency and fresh content. So, when they crawl your site, they will soon tell how often you post fresh content.
You don’t have to do it daily; in fact, I would focus on quality more than quantity.
However, you must make a regular content calendar to ensure you stick to plan. If you go too long without posting, you’ll lose your audience and Google’s peepers! This could affect your ability to make money from your blog.
How to Make Eyes Pop and Brains Nod
Interest and attention are in short supply these days. You need to PROVE to your readers that you are providing value. PRONTO!
They will scan your content quickly and look for signals alerting them of GOOD content or Bad Content. It’s not a matter of if, so the best thing you can do is HELP your reader decide whether your content is a good fit for them.
Here’s how!
- Let Your Content Breathe
Don’t let your content suffocate – create lots of white space.
Add blank space in between your writing to make it more interesting and easier to read.
This will give your content some breathing room and make it more visually appealing!
Making your blog post look like a wall of words is a big fat no-no! If you do this, people will leave your page (fast) and never come back.
I did test this “white space theory” myself, just a couple months back. Without boring you with the details, I can confidently say that I have definitive proof that creating lots of white space DOES work.
Whereas having looooooong paragraphs, one after the other, with little to no pictures, just makes your hard-earned visitors click off your website – at first glance!
Why? Because it’s exhausting to look at let alone try to read!
If you want to steer clear of long and overwhelming paragraphs, there are a few useful methods you can try out. So here is how you can avoid that dreadful big block of text.
Beware of the TEXT BLOCK Curse!
- Keep your paragraphs short and sweet.
- Only talk about one thing at a time.
- Use lists and bullets to make things easier to read.
2. Jazz it up with pics, vids, and other fun stuff!
If you want to make your blog posts more enjoyable to read (and ultimately more profitable) add:
- Pictures
- Graphs
- Videos
This helps the readers absorb the information quicker and easier. Visuals break up long paragraphs, making the reader stay on page longer.
3. Cross Link to Relevant Content!
Include links to other pages that relate to what you’re talking about (even other websites!) This will help your readers understand the ideas better.
Adding links also helps your blog show up higher in search results, which means more people can find and read your posts.
4. Bottoms UP!
Get to the point right away – start your paragraph with the most important stuff first.
Most articles work up to the juicy stuff, with the assumption that’s how you keep readers intrigued. But is it really?? NOPE!
Instead, you MUST start every paragraph by telling the reader the main idea first. Just like I did with this section.
Psssssst….let me know in the comments below if it worked!
At the end of the day, making your blog posts easier to read WILL drastically improve engagement.
The 3 best blogger tips you’ll ever get:
Use sentences that are both long and short:
- Shorter than longer.
- Keep paragraphs brief:
- Ideally 1-3 sentences.
Choose simple words instead of complicated ones:
For example, instead of saying “utilize,” which is more complicated, use the simpler word “use.” This will make the sentence easier to understand and more concise.
The Best Kept Blogger Secret
Always Write your Blog Posts in a 6th grade reading level.
Just this one thing will have your pageviews skyrocketing!
If you only take one thing away from reading this blogging guide today, make this that “thing”!
To make your writing easy to read and understand, try these SUPER effective blogger tips:
- Use sentences that are both long & short; 80% short, 20% long.
- Keep your paragraphs brief; 3 sentence MAXIMUM.
- Choose simple words over complicated ones; aim for a 6th grade reading level!
You can use an SEO Writing Assistant tool to automatically assess your blog post’s readability level and improve it. It will generate a readability score for your blog posts and highlight paragraphs, sentences, and words that need to be rewritten and make suggestions.
I have affiliated with SEMrush to offer my readers a FREE TRIAL for a whole month.
I highly recommend you check it out- even if it’s just for the free 30 days! The results you’ll get from using it for a month will absolutely amaze you. Hands down!
The MONEY is in the List!
After people start visiting your blog, you should try to keep them interested. You can make a form on your site where they can sign up for your newsletter.
You could even give them something special, like a secret blog post or a free eBook, for signing up!
This will help you get their contact information while also giving them something cool.
Did you know? Each subscriber you have is worth $1 a month.
That’s correct! As a rule of thumb, it is determined that each subscriber is worth $1.
So, if you have 1,000 subscribers you will make approx. $1,000 a month. If you have 10,000 subscribers, you will make $10,000. I would say this is incentive enough to want to start an email list for your blog!
Optimizing your Blog Posts
The best way to optimize your blog posts for the search engines (as well as user readability!) is a little thing called “table of contents“.
If you add a Table of Contents at the beginning of your blog post, it can make it easier for people to find what they want in your article.
This is particularly helpful if your blog post is long and has various sections to it. Reader’s love having a blog table of contents that they can click on at will.
Update your Blog Pots regularly
Don’t forget about your old blog posts! Your competitors are going to try to keep up with you, so you need to keep your important posts up to date to stay ahead.
This is super important for topics that change quickly, such as technology.
Update your post titles to show that they have the latest information.
A good example of this would be “The Best Smartphones of 2023”. Opposed to a blog post title that said, “The Best Smartphones of 2021”. Which one are you most likely to read?
One of the best ways to improve your blog’s SEO is to check your old posts regularly to get rid of any that are outdated. Successful bloggers do this a couple times a year but doing it more often could prove even better!
Optimizing Videos in Blog Posts
Making your video content as attractive and informative as possible is important if you want to reach new audiences on YouTube. Here are some important tips to help you optimize your video content:
- Come up with an interesting title that includes your target keyword.
- Write a short and interesting description that explains what your video is about and include a link to your website.
- Choose a descriptive file name for your video to make it easier for people to find.
- Check out our guide to learn more about how to optimize your videos for search engines.
Optimizing Images in Blog Posts
Images are important too! Using images in your content can help you reach even more people. Here are three important things to keep in mind when optimizing images:
- ALT TAGS
Use alt tags to describe your image in case it can’t be displayed.
- IMAGE TAGS
Use image tags to give a description that appears when a user scrolls over an image.
- FILE NAMES
Choose a descriptive file name for your image, just like you would for a video.
How Bloggers Make Money
So, you have set your blog up to be a major winner! Now, how do you go about actually making those dollar signs come in? What are some ways you can make money blogging? How much do bloggers make?
Well, there are many ways bloggers make money. I’m going to list the major players for ya, below:
Join an Affiliate Program
How do blogs make money with affiliate programs? Well, for those who don’t know, let me break it down in a way that’s easy to understand.
So, imagine you have a favorite book, we’ll call it “How to Make Money Blogging “. You love it so much that you tell your friend about it.
One day, your friend decides they want to buy the book, but they’re not sure where to buy it.
That’s where affiliate programs come in. When a blogger writes about a product they like, they can include a special link to that product.
If someone clicks on that link and buys the product, the blogger gets a little commission – kinda like a “thank-you” for the referral.
So, let’s say a blogger comes along and writes about that “How to Make Money Blogging” book and he includes an affiliate link to the website where you can buy it.
If someone clicks on that affiliate link and buys the book, the blogger will receive a small commission.
It’s a win-win – the blogger gets paid for promoting something they like and recommend, and the company selling the product gets a new customer!
NOTE: Please BE HONEST about your opinions and only promote products you believe in! Otherwise, you end up giving all bloggers a bad name and ruin it for everyone. Who is going to trust another blogger’s opinion if they’ve been burned by one in the past? So, I hope that goes without saying.
Not to mention, your readers aren’t stupid! So never assume you can “outsmart” your readers. You can’t….and you won’t! They know if you’re being legit and whether your review is genuine or not.
Why jeopardize your reputation as a potential top blogger? Especially after you’ve put in soooo much hard work building your brand in the first place!
Personally, *I* only recommend products and services that I have personally used (and loved!) OR, in some cases, is a product or service that I have investigated and researched the hell out of (including customers, reviews, ratings, comparisons, etc.).
At the end of the day, I have awesome readers who I truly consider my blog family! I simply do not have it in me to lie to them, and I wouldn’t want too anyways.
On that note, my dear friend, is how blogs make money with affiliate programs.
Join Media Networks
Bloggers can make money through their blogs by joining media networks. Some good options are Google AdSense, MediaVine, Amazon Associates, ShareASale, and Commission Junction.
They all offer different ways to make money through ads and promotions.
When picking a network, bloggers should think about how much money they can make, what kinds of ads they can use, and what products they can promote.
The 2 Best Media Networks:
- Media Vine:
This is a premium ad network that requires a minimum of 50,000 sessions in the last 30 days to join. They offer high-quality ads and pay bloggers a super competitive rate.
They are the best and highest paying.
With that said, it’s additionally difficult to get accepted into their network. However, if you follow these top 3 tips on how to get accepted into Mediavine, you should get in.
Long form content.
Ideally, your blog posts/articles should be no less than 1,800 words.
All content must be 100% original.
If they sense any plagiarism, your account will be deactivated.
Good standing with AdSense.
It really helps to get in to Mediavine if you have a good standing account with Google Adsense.
2. Google AdSense:
This is one of the most popular and widely used ad networks for bloggers. It’s free to join and offers a variety of ad formats, including display ads, text ads, and more.
Sidenote: The payout for Adsense is basically pennies compared to Mediavine! However, Google Adsense IS a good place to start, when options are limted. Which they usually are, for new websites.
But once you reach the minimum requirements, you’re going to want to apply to Mediavine ASAP. From what I’ve heard, Mediavine pays up to 10X more than AdSense! Now that’s what I call incentive!
Write Sponsored Reviews
Bloggers can make money by partnering with companies to create content that promotes their products or services. The blogger will get paid for creating the post and sharing it on their blog and social media channels.
Sponsored posts can be a great way for bloggers to make money and provide value to their readers. However, it’s important for bloggers to be honest about their reviews and recommendations. As well as letting their readers know if they are getting paid for it.
This helps build trust with the readers.
Some people make money by putting ads and links to products on their website. But it’s even better to make your own digital product and sell it. It might seem hard, but it’s easier than you think! Much easier. You also have so much more control over selling digital products of your own.
Your product doesn’t have to be perfect; it just must be something your readers will find useful to them and find value in buying. But once you do find your “something”, it will be your golden ticket.
Sell Physical Products
Do people really like your blog? Do you have a huge following? If so, they might be big fans who want to support you.
You can make money and make them happy by selling merchandise related to the blog’s theme, such as t-shirts, mugs, and stickers. Selling merch has been an incredibly profitable way to make money with your blog.
What’s so great about selling Merch is that you create an army of marketers for your blog – people who promote your brand without even thinking about it.
Perhaps you can sell Handmade or artisanal products that complement the blog’s content, such as crafts, jewelry, or artwork?
Now, although physical products CAN be super profitable, I still recommend selling digital products. If you sell digital products, it’s practically all profit. Meaning, you won’t have to sell nearly as much to make the same amount of money you would with physical products.
Nonetheless, YOU decide what feels right on your blog, for your readers.
Sell your Services
You can even use a blog to showcase your expertise! Bloggers can write blog posts to establish credibility in their field. For example, a blogger who offers SEO services can write blog posts on SEO tips to demonstrate their skills.
So, if you’re a blogger with a certain skill, you can offer that skill as a service on your blog and get paid for it.
This can be a good way to make money, but it takes hard work to promote your services and find clients. By selling services on your blog, you can earn money by using your talents and knowledge to help others and make your blog more valuable at the same time.
Sell a Membership
Sell exclusive access to extra special content on your blog. A.K.A “members only area”.
It’s like having a secret club, but with more money involved! You can offer different levels of membership with exciting benefits, and before you know it, you’ll have a whole crew of loyal followers (and a fatter wallet).
A Successful Bloggers Mindset
This in-depth blogging guide has taught you many detailed blogger tips and tricks, so that you can make money blogging. I just know that you are going to be a HUGE success! I am sincerely grateful to be a part of your learning journey and to help you make money with blogging in 2023.
There are many, many blog ideas that make money. The most profitable blogs (or just the best blogs in general) were started by people no different than you.
I’m no blog expert, but the best blogging advice I can give you; be patient and stay consistent.
Familiarize yourself with the best blogging tools and blogging resources available. Research all the blogging information you can, as well as educate yourself on blog marketing.
If you have the motivation and determination to do these things, there’s simply no reason that you can’t start a blog in 2023 and succeed!
I always hear people say, “if it’s so easy to make money with blogs, then why isn’t everyone doing it??”. Valid question, and one that I used to ask, myself!
The best answer that I can give you is that that 99% of people who start a blog never even pass the finish line. In fact, they don’t even run the race!
If you want to get into the blogging business, you need a lot of determination and a little creativity. But if you want to make money from blogging you must have realistic expectations, which simply boils down to patience.
Just don’t give up, because unfortunately most people do! That, my friend, is why “not everyone is doing it”. So even if it seems like you’re not getting anything in return for all your hard work, keep pushing forward. IT WILL HAPPEN.
Blogging in 2023 is even bigger than it was last year, and the year before that. Blogging isn’t a trend, and it certainly is not going away any time soon – or at all for that matter!
There are many different types of blogs, but if you are looking to create the next “blog of blogs”, it’s not a question of IF you will succeed……it’s just a question of WHEN you will succeed.
